Poetic Essences

March passed.

Stores of hoarded memories
March passed far too fast
Embedded in my dreams
Entities that never last.

Essences of existence
Wraiths with smoking guns
Past my eyes another time
Some speak in tongues.

I don’t know where they go
When they go away
Articles of actuality
Return another day.

Is there some assistance
Help that I can’t see
Entities that are undisclosed
Angels looking after me.

In the wind, I can’t rescind
The elements and rain
One hot day I fray
Followed by a cool refrain.

Existence is anathema
Sometimes too hard to bear
Reality is the substance
I know when you’re not there.

And then there’s the midnight hour
I walk and talk and watch the moon
In her misty habitat
Swallow me and swoon.

Another dawn I stretch and yawn
Who knows what waits tomorrow?
Happiness heartache and love
Some beg steals or borrow.

Last, of all, there comes the call
To walk into the unknown
Like the wind upon my back
Onwards I am blown.
