Crossing the illusive $5 threshold — at last

Please read to the end, this is not your standard stat story.

Yesterday was a day to go down in (my) writing history.

My Partner Program earnings reached $5.27.

This is cause for a MAJOR celebration in my life, because now I can honestly say …

My $5 monthly fee has been covered, and it’s only half way through the month, so things are looking good.

A pause here for gratitude.

It isn’t me who has made the money, it is my readers who have willingly shared a portion of their membership by reading my stories.

For this I will be eternally grateful, because this is a massive deal for me.

If you have read a previous story of mine, particularly one from over the first two weeks of July 2023, then THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

If you understand the power of saying ‘thank you’ three times, then you’ll especially ‘get’ this.

I haven’t broken even yet. My first earning month of $4.90 (so close), in February 2023, quickly plummeted to ‘is it worth it’ mode over the subsequent months.

Granted, I didn’t actually write anything after my ‘I almost made it’ moment in February. I moved out of the luxury holiday apartment in the sunny south of Spain I’d been treating as my personal writers retreat for ten weeks, and spent a month travelling through France on my way to the UK. I had neither the time, nor the electricity available, to put fingers to keyboard.

In March and April I had to do my financial duty to the family, and partake in ‘normal’ work. You know, the kind where you swop time for a decent hourly rate. I also took on the role of helping my parents move house. This was definitely not something I will repeat without a suit of criticism repelling armour firmly strapped to me.
