How To Write In The Age of Social Media

3 exercises that can make your writing easily sellable.

I started writing in late 2019 with one thing in mind is to improve my English test score in order to get admission for masters in London.

Writing consistently since the past year there are few things that I’ve learned, and always tried to share those insights through this Medium.

Talking about Medium, I have seen writers especially new writers struggle on this platform and eventually stop writing. They also put out some of the mediocre content with some clickbait titles and articles that never satisfied readers.

I am not saying that I am the best or even I am credible enough to criticize their work but I am just saying what I have seen over the period of time.

There is one thing I can surely say is that these methods are tried and tested plenty of times by myself and a few of my friends.

If you wish to implement these tips in your writing routine I can surely assure you a guaranteed success in a much lesser time.

Over the period of time, you have noticed how writing has evolved. In this era, we mostly talk in a kind of transaction style.

With the advent of social media apps, we exchange short chunks of sentences in order to communicate. This leads to the reduction of our appetite to consume long-form content.

That makes really hard for an individual to start a blog from scratch and expect that people will go crazy about your 7000-word article.

In order to avoid these struggles and disappointment, you can first observe the market and your consumers (i.e your reader/audience/niche audience)

See what type of content is easily consumable and shareable. Meditate on your first draft and try to make it more concise and short.

Split your long paragraphs into separate lines and make them relatable to the audience.

This exercise will help you to make your content more easily monetizable.
