VEVE Collectible Marketplace Overview

VeVe Collectibles has been one of the staples of the recent NFT craze. Founded in 2018, VeVe is a partner with Disney meaning you will be seeing licensed Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar NFTs, and much more from VeVe.

In this article, I’m going to provide a general overview of the VeVe app and then I am going to talk about why VeVe’s NFTs might be something worth investing in.

These collectibles are most common within the VeVe app, these are essentially your normal NFT with AR capabilities where you can view your NFT in a “digital showroom”. Most releases within VeVe will have these types of NFTs.

2. Comics

Comics are a newer addition to the VeVe releases and are extremely interesting. Essentially after purchasing a comic, you are able to read it via the VeVe app! So far most of these comics are Marvel based.

3. Partnered Collectibles with Utility

VeVe has recently been partnering with many different large companies, such as Cinemark Theaters and USPS to release collectibles that have utility when purchased! Utility plays a huge role in how well a NFT will perform, let’s take a look at one of their most recent partnerships with Cinemark Theaters:

VeVe dropped a Movie Ticket NFT for No Time To Die on 10/6/21 for a list price of 107 Gems and only 7 editions. So obviously a very small drop, this NFT would grant the owner 7 promotional stubs to watch the movie at any Cinemark Theater. Pretty interesting right? Read more about it here

In order to purchase any NFT, you must first have Gems which is VeVe’s currency. 1 Gem = $1. Pretty straightforward. You can purchase gems via your Wallet in the app.

Aside from the VeVe app home page, your best bet to find all upcoming drops will be here: https://medium.com/veve-collectibles/veve-drops/home. Articles are all written in detail, and everything is kept up to date here!

Currently, there is a marketplace within the VeVe app. You are able to buy and sell here. The process to list your collectibles and sell is extremely easy and straightforward. After selling a collectible, the gems will go back into your wallet. However, as of now there is no way to exchange the gems for any currency, so you will be stuck with them in your VeVe wallet until that feature is available!

ECOMI (OMI) is a utlity token that is used as a medium of exchange when a user buys, sells or trades, their digital collectibles on the VeVe playform. So essentially, OMI token is just VeVe’s cryptocurreny. As of now, buying OMI isn’t the easiest process, however, I’m sure as VeVe progresses it will be out on most major crypto platforms. You can read more about OMI here.

Not only is a partnership with Disney HUGE, VeVe is clearly not showing signs of stopping with there many other partnerships like USPS and Cinemark Theaters.

With dozens of other types of NFTs being released daily outside of VeVe, VeVe definitely has an edge over many other projects with being able to release collectibles from Marvel and many classic childhood TV shows and many collectors are truly interested in.

As the NFT space continues to grow, I’m sure VeVe will be getting more and more exposure with it. If you follow their releases weekly, you will find that most of their drops sell out and resell for easily 2–10x their listed amount. Obviously do your own research before purchasing any NFT, nothing is guaranteed.

I still believe that VeVe is in it’s early stages with many features still missing. It might not be a horrible to do some research on some OG projects or new NFTs with utility to potential invest in, I’m sure there is money to be made within this space.

Disclaimer: I am NOT a financial advisor, when purchasing any NFTs you are at risk of losing ALL your investments. Please do your own research before investing your money into projects.
