Why it is Important to Be a Part of a Church Family

Religion is often considered to be a set of beliefs, rules, and rituals/practices pertaining to that which they worship. But being involved in a church family is more than religion. Instead it focuses on the relationships that we we build with fellow believers during our walk with the Lord. I myself have built many relationships with others in and outside of my own church who have helped shape me into who I am today.

I am part of a wonderful church which puts a focus on doctrine and fellowship. These are two of the most important aspects of a christian’s life in my opinion because it can give you a strong mind and a strong spirit. My church regularly holds fellowships where everyone bring food and we get together at a member’s house just just talk and get to know each other on another level. They are a great opportunity to discuss what God has taught each of us in the passing weeks and strengthen our bonds with each other.

As our family went through many trials over the past few years, we have been blessed with a church family who was there for us physically and helped to strengthen us spiritually. Merely their presence alone was a blessing because it was able to lift our spirits on the situations. They didn’t have to drive hours to a hospital just to sit next to us and talk, but they are dedicated to us in the same way we are to them. They brought verses to share and stories to tell of their own struggles and how God was their for them. The family I am a part of wants to strengthen my relationship with the Lord and uplift me.

Being a part of a strong church family can help a struggling christian find their way again. They can uplift you during the hard times and hold you accountable. On top of these, fellowshipping with on each other can be a fantastic way to build friendships and find mentors that are healthy and long lasting.
