Time travel is not possible!

Let us define what time travel is. Time travel is when something moves faster or slower in time relative to others. As we all know, to do this we need a time machine.

People are saying that time travel can be possible in future. I believe that would happen for sure. But what I don’t believe is that travelling back in time. Like we see in movies, I can go back to my past and change whatever I did thus reflecting my present.

I think we can slow down or fast forward our time relative to others, but we can’t make our self go back in time. Because there is no sense or any logical explanation that would be possible.

Why do I say this? Think for a second. If I changed my past, then I would not be here in my present, and after all, I never end up going to my past. Logically thinking, the time travels at the same speed for all of us. And if somehow I can make it slower for me, then everyone else has a normal time speed, except me.

In this case, I will be travelling slower in time than others. But it doesn’t mean I am in my past. After a few years, people who were in my age would have aged more than me.

But the real question here is, what will I be doing all these years as others were moving forward in time? Even if its a fraction of second for me, it would be years of time for others, that I would be missing from this world!. Thus movies showing people going to their past and meeting themselves, or going to their future is not possible at all.

The next reason is the Twins problem. Consider twin brothers. One of them stays on the earth, while the other is travelling at different time speed. When he returns back to the normal time speed, say after 10 years, the one who stayed on earth would have aged more than him.

Looking at this problem, I think that the time difference between two people seems obvious. since one was travelled at different time speed, then another. But how do we measure the time of that person who travelled in time? And, if we say he has aged less than the person at the earth, it holds true only for the time measurement taken at the earth, not in other time speed.

We calculate time on the basis of day and night on the earth. If the person has travelled in time then he/she must have a different unit of measure for time. So there will be no difference in time when we convert their time to earth’s time measurement.

The person has experienced 10 years of time in the earth and the time travelled person has experienced some amount of time, which we evaluate to about 9 years.

Thinking about other ways, what if we all moved to another time speed? Then everyone would be travelling at the same speed and ageing at the same speed. It becomes the new normal for all of us. We may live a long time when we compare the time to earth. But actually, we live for the same amount of time as others in the new speed which is the case currently on earth.
